Standard Chartered Bank Botswana has partnered with the University of Botswana once again by sponsoring P1, 000,000 towards the annual University of Botswana (UB) Marathon, reaffirming its commitment to promoting health, wellness, and education in Botswana. The flagship event, taking place on 7 September 2025 on the UB campus, is fast becoming a cornerstone of Botswanaโs sports and community development calendar.
The sponsorship marks a significant milestone in the Bankโs long-standing partnership with the University of Botswana. It underscores a shared vision to uplift local communities by supporting initiatives that foster holistic development through education, sport, and financial inclusion.

A key component of this yearโs marathon is its contribution to the UB Scholarship Endowment Fund. Proceeds from the event will support the sponsorship of graduate students, empowering them to pursue academic excellence and make a meaningful impact in the nationโs development.
As part of the sponsorship, Standard Chartered Bank will fund prize money for the 42.2km winners, as well as winners in the category of Runners Living with Disabilities.
