The Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (BUAN) has been honored with a donation of 200 books from the READ JAPAN PROJECT 2024. This generous gesture, aimed at fostering academic growth, was made possible through the collaboration of the Tokyo Foundation for Policy Research and The Nippon Foundation.
During the event, BUAN’s Vice Chancellor Professor Ketlhatlogile Mosepele, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Japan, emphasizing the importance of this donation in supporting the university’s growth, transformation, and pursuit of academic excellence. The donated books cover diverse disciplines, with a special focus on Japan, and will serve as valuable resources for students, staff, and researchers at BUAN.
His Excellency, Shindo Yusuke, the Ambassador of Japan to Botswana, remarked that the READ JAPAN PROJECT 2024 is mainly targeted at young students, researchers, opinion leaders, and intellectuals specializing in economics, business, politics, culture, arts, and history. He expressed his sincere hope that the academic cooperation between Botswana and Japan in the educational sector will continue to grow, fostering even greater understanding and collaboration between the two nations.
This initiative strengthens the growing partnership between BUAN and Japan, with further collaborations expected in areas such as agriculture, technology, and vocational education.
