Botswana Telecommunications Corporation Limited (BTC) has officially launched BTC Business, a refreshed identity for its business division, marking a key milestone in the company’s evolution as a leading digital solutions provider.

The rebrand represents a strategic transformation of BTC’s business operations and reaffirms its commitment to supporting businesses, government institutions, and organisations across Botswana and the broader Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.

BTC Business delivers tailored digital solutions to critical sectors including government and the public sector, banking and financial services, mining, tourism and hospitality, education and healthcare, manufacturing and agriculture, as well as transport and energy. As digital technologies increasingly underpin service delivery, productivity, and economic growth, BTC Business is responding to growing demand for robust connectivity, resilient infrastructure, and secure digital platforms.

Providing an overview of the BTC Business, the BTC Chief Executive Officer Mr Jürgen Peschel explained the meaning behind its positioning, “Delivered Now. Connected to What’s Next”.  “Delivered Now means that our fully modernised network, sites and services are operating reliably, securely, and nationally,” said Mr Peschel. “This includes strong uptime, clear service level agreements, rapid response times, 24/7 support and dedicated, skilled account managers who are fully accountable to our customers”, he said.

He added that Connected to What’s Next reflects BTC Business’ role as a long-term technology partner. “Whether our customers are expanding to new locations, migrating to the cloud, strengthening cybersecurity, rolling out digital services, or connecting across the SADC region, BTC Business has the technologies, expertise, and local presence to support that journey”, he said.

Speaking on the journey ahead for BTC Business, THE BTC Chief Enterprise Sales Officer, Ms Sefalana Mophuting stated that the repositioning of BTC Business was shaped directly by customer engagement. “The repositioning of BTC Business is rooted in direct engagement with our customers who were very clear that they needed more from us,” said Mophuting. “As Botswana’s converged digital solutions provider and a company listed on the Botswana Stock Exchange with over 39,000 Batswana shareholders, BTC carries both a commercial mandate and a broader obligation to this economy, to the businesses that drive it, and to the citizens those businesses serve. This transformation reflects our commitment, and it is a responsibility we embrace with pride and seriousness.”

Mophuting stated that BTC continues to reinforce this commitment through sustained investment in infrastructure and capabilities. “Through our National Network Optimisation Project, we have optimised more than 390 network sites to expand 4G coverage, reduce service interruptions, and improve overall network quality,” she said. She added that regulatory developments, including the Botswana Data Protection Act, have increased demand for local data sovereignty and trusted digital partners who understand the compliance landscape. “What truly differentiates BTC Business is our shift from being a service provider to becoming a strategic partner, working closely with customers to understand their operational realities and delivering digital solutions that are fit for purpose, scalable, and locally relevant”, she said.

Ms Mophuting called on businesses to partner with BTC Business, which she defined as “Botswana’s digital gateway that have the infrastructure, the expertise, the national footprint, and most importantly, the commitment to be the digital partner this market deserves,” she concluded. The refreshed BTC Business identity signals the next chapter in the growth of the company’s business portfolio, supporting organisations as they transition to digitally enabled and data‑driven operations.
