Hamptons 2020 to fuse glam, music

Gaborone’s finest, most sought after and much anticipated event; Hamptons Jazz Festival is building up to deliver a stellar show.

The Jazz Festival will be bringing the hottest international line ups from jazz, afro pop and many more genres. Hamptons 2020, has been slated for 28 March 2020 with the theme; ‘All things bright and beautiful’. The show is reported to be running smoothly and it will be hosted at Royal Aria stadium.

Hamptons Jazz Festival is well known for serving serene environments for people to relax and have fun whilst enjoying music, food and fashion. Revellers from as far as London and neighbouring countries, have been attracted to the show ever since inception, giving it a global Pan African feel.In an Interview with WeekendLife, The Founder and Patron of Hamptons Jazz Festival, Debbie Smith explained that the event has been welcomed as a platform for the youth who are getting different jobs and getting paid temporarily until the event happens in March. “We have no sponsors, however, the small team we have is working so hard and all is going according to plan,” she said.

Smith is looking forward to see people flaunting their show stopper outfits and having a time of their life as well because after taking a gap year, this definitely what people have been looking forward to.“We hope to see different people wearing those amazing outfits.  However, the T-shirt and Jeans classic is also a winner. Hamptons Jazz happens once a year. This is the 6th year attracting fans from neighbouring counties as we have artists from Mozambique, South Africa, Namibia and Nigeria.  We continue building up our objective of promoting tourism through music and so far a number of fans have purchased tickets,” she said.

Currently tourists are now awaiting accommodation and transport packages which they are negotiating on their behalf. “Hamptons Jazz is a local brand bring the world to Botswana and continue striving to make it the best event for the mature adults as our slogan goes. Hamptons Monate Wa botsadi,” she said.The Hamptons Jazz has released its line up headlined by Vusi Nova & Femi Koya. Other internationals include, Nathi, Mzwakhe Mbuli, Don Laka, Jah Prayzar, Elemotho & Jimmy Dludlu.

Local artists include Sereetsi & the Natives, Sethunya Maele, Charma Girl, Amantle Brown, Lister Boleseng. MCs will be Khumo Kgwaadira and Resego Motlhokathari. More artists are to be added as locals are yet to confirm.Early bird tickets are already sold out. “We are currently selling the P799 tickets which is a double ticket admitting 2 people. For a limited time, these include either a free t-shirt or a Moet glass.   Selling points are at The Grand Aria Hotel, where we have a Hamptons Desk,” she said.Tickets sales will be from 8am till 7pm every day.

There will also be a stall ran by Hamptons consultants in Main mall near Cresta Hotel, from Monday to Friday from 8am till 5pm.
