Botswana to host CANA Zone IV Swimming Championships

The Botswana Swimming Sports Association (BOSSA) has announced that they will be hosting the 2020 CANA Zone IV Swimming Championships in Gaborone at the University of Botswana swimming pool.

This tournament will be held 20 – 23 February 2020 and see the country host 13 countries with 320 athletes and numerous coaches, team officials and visitors from within our Southern African region. This is CANA Zone IV’s biggest annual swimming event and has grown in popularity and standing within Africa over the past 19 years.

This Federation Internationale de Natation (FINA) recognized event promises to have some top-class swimming on show as well as show case some of the young talent and upcoming swimmers that this region has to offer. The countries participating are Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Eswatini, Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Botswana Swimming is also pleased to announce our partners and championship sponsors for the 2020 edition: Stanbic Bank, Cresta Hotels, Wimpy, Coca Cola, Spar Botswana, Haskins, Evo Branding and Nashua Botswana so far. We would like to acknowledge their contributions and generous support to growing the sport of swimming within Botswana and Africa. It will help prove that Botswana is very capable of hosting events of international standard in swimming, and demonstrate to Batswana that we can, and we will host and compete with the rest of the world.
