St Louis Summer Fest returns back

Publishing Date : 28 October, 2019

One of the most popular music festival in Botswana, St Louis Summer Fest is back this year. The last show was a success with a Nigerian music superstar, Davido, headlining alongside Nasty C and ATI.

It will be the sixth edition since its inception in 2012. The aim of the event is to promote St Louis, the lager that offers long lasting refreshment in Botswana’s hot climate since 1985. All a person had to do back then was to buy a case of beer and get two free entry tickets to the festival, party goers await details to the latest edition. Kgalagadi Breweries Limited (KBL) did not host the show the last time out after some local promoters allegedly lodged a complaint against them with the Competition Authority (CA).

It was held under the theme ‘’Keeping it Fresh’’ the tagline which inspired Batswana to find celebration in every moment and represents a new generation that celebrate positive, inspiring and social spirit that defines Batswana, the organisers say. Last year KBL was pushing Botswana’s version of Castle Lite Unlocks which was held in June at Cigar Lounge in Phakalane. Tickets were not for sale and what a customer had to do was to buy a case of castle lite 340 ml.

Information gathered by this publication suggests that KBL is still assessing possible headline acts from abroad. According to sources the festival is expected to be held sometime next month. KBL is said to be considering popular American hip hop and R&B stars but options are still much open.
