Sneakers Expo rolls in Legends Barbershop

The highly anticipated lifestyle Sneaker Expo Botswana, will be making yet another comeback this year. This year’s edition is coming in partnership with Legends Barbershop, known as the glamour boys of haircuts.  Airport Junction Mall will play host for this occasion on August 31st.


The sneaker expo, is a family event for all ages of a sneaker lovers. It allows people to come and indulge in sneaker culture, shop for deals, learn about the business and most importantly, support local brands. The event brings together Sneaker collections, Sneaker Heads, Aspirant collectors, custom interactions and master classes for sneakers fanatics. Sneakers Expo also celebrates sneaker culture in general, complimented by other products related to the ‘thrills’ game. 


Founded by the Urban Soul Apparel in 2016, the Sneaker Expo, will be hosted for its fourth consecutive year and has continued to grow over the years. Previously with its highlight being the Creative Workshop, different Masters who have great influence in their field have been confirmed to speak. Michael Hall, Social Media Strategist, Thobo Kerekang Founder of Keno Custom Suits, Thapelo Letsebe, Stylist and Influencer and Kaone Monamodi International Models; Petula and Fauz El, are some of the media personalities who will be back in the country after years of being in South Africa. “We are able to host different people who are not just interested in buying our product, but also people who love the culture and can just come together and have a great time,” said, the Public Relations of Sneakers Expo, Pearl Kolanyane.

In an interview with WeekendLife, Kolanyane further explained that this year they are focusing on pushing their actual brand, the product and the label. “We have partnered with a barbershop from South Africa called Legends Barbershop. The barbershop connects directly to Urban Souls and Rep Gabs. They do not only cut hairs they also do the best haircuts for celebrities the likes of Casper Nyovest, in South Africa,” she said. The team of barbers are amped to be giving free cuts at the event before 3pm for everyone who bought a ticket.


Sneaker Expo Master Class this year, will focus on different fields, touching base on various stories of some of Botswana’s trail-blazers. These are people who have been seen on different platforms, social media, hangout spots, events, offices and other plartforms. Unlike previous years, she said this time around they will be a platform for them to share how they are building their brands, share their journey and people will have a chance to ask them questions on how they are driving their enterprises.“As norm, there is always a great ambience to our events, great people great music and an opportunity to mingle. Performances by FME DJs, Frost, Casper the DJ, Baxon, DeeJ Shutdown (SA),” she said.


Founder of the UrbanSoul Brand Molefi Nkwete, said “The Sneaker Expo is a futuristic event of ours and we will continue to build it with the years, and we are patient to let it grow.”Complimentary Haircut tickets are sold at P150, Bundle Access, which admits two is sold at P120, P100 standard ticket, P500 VIP and P30 for kids.
