Gaborone United have decided against securing the services of Madinda Ndlovu next season, instead the club has earmarked Brazilian gaffer Leonardo Neiva to succeed Philemon Makhwengwe as the club seeks a new football establishment, WeekendSport can reveal.

Ndlovu had expressed a keen interest in joining the Gaborone giant, but he faced stiff competition from other international coaches. Reports state that GU is ready to bypass Ndlovu who is believed to be a supporters’ choice for the coaching job, in favour of the Brazilian.
Reports indicate that GU management is yet to contact Madinda directly about their position. GU is partly procrastinating on the issue because they still have a running contract with coach Makhwengwe.

Although a number of individuals claiming to represent the club have enquired about Madinda to poll his interest in the position, all inquiries have been deflected already. On the other hand, Madinda is believed to be waiting for senior members of the Money Machine hierarchy to make direct contact. The Zimbabwean has resolved to say nothing publicly until he knows the GU's public intentions. He will, however, be disappointed if there is no reply, reports further said.

Having won league titles with two big clubs (Township Rollers and Mochudi Center Chiefs) in the country, and also holding A-license coaching certificate, Madinda stock, without doubt, has risen. He has also turned Orapa United team into a force to reckon with. The club has won one Mascom Top 8 cup but struggled since his departure.

However, reports say Madinda believes he could extract the best from GU squad regularly labelled perennial failures with uninspiring performances. He has also worked with familiar few players while at Chiefs, Rollers and Orapa. This makes him to be confident that his preparatory methods and tactical intelligence would have an immediate impact.

However, reports indicate that Ndlovu is being eyed by Jwaneng Galaxy who are in danger of losing their stylish but nomadic coach, Miguel Da Costa. It is said the Mascom Top 8 champions are uncomfortable as Rollers is said to be keeping the Portuguese restless.
According to reliable sources, Da Costa is likely to return home to attend other pressing issues. Galaxy are yet to have a say on the issue.

Galaxy are attracted to the Zimbabwean because of his impressive stewarding of the fellow diamond  club Orapa United the past two years, where he won the Top 8 tournament for the first time of asking, and also falling at the last hurdle of the same tournament a year ago. By all accounts, Ndlovu is a players' coach, described as more humble and possessing the ability to man-manage players to keep them onside and coax winning displays from them.
