Sadi Dikgaka answers her music calling

Publishing Date : 07 May, 2019

Flava Dome presenter Sadi Dikgaka has started embracing her musical gift which has been her passion from a tender age. The gorgeous presenter has done collaborations with other local artists and she is absolutely charmed by the music industry.

Speaking to WeekendLife this week, Sadi said she always had a deep seeded love for music. “I feel like it is part of my calling. I have always been part of music fraternity since my younger years. A lot of my musical influences range from 1970s to our present day. I have always told myself ‘you are going to serenade the masses just like your icons’. I just want it to be the right way and time,” she said. She said currently she is not genre specific. She is however influenced by RnB, Hip-hop, House and Neo Soul music.

“It’s a passion of mine which I wanted to take part in. I love music and singing so why not? I was at church doing a solo, I think I was in standard 2 at the time. After singing I got some compliments which convinced me that maybe I should do more,” she said. Although she does not have an album yet, she has made collaborations with local artists including DJ Kuchi for a song called ‘Take Me Away’, Lizibo for True Love by Lizibo. Sadi has also been featured in Without Joy by Zagro, a DJ from Lesotho.

Even though she has not yet discovered her genre she has music icons she looks up to in her musical path. “I look up to my heavenly icons Brenda Fassie, Whitney Houston, and Lebo Mathosa. As mentioned I love different eras and genres of music, so I tend to listen to various pieces of music by respected artists,” she explained.

Locally she does not have any specific any person she looks up to. “I solely listen to but I have a love and appreciation for Samantha Mogwe, Mpho Sebina, Thato Jessica, Han C, Amantle Brown just to name a few from the vocally blessed. When it comes to production DJ Kuchi, Favi, Berry Bone, Flex the Ninja, François, Yung Fella, and and.... so many I’d name but unfortunately we’d be here all day,” she said.

She has no intentions of releasing an album anytime soon but a few singles, collaborations and hopefully before the year ends she will drop EP: extended play record. Sadi Dikgaka is a young lady from Molepolole known for her stunning looks on our television screens every Friday as the presenter of Flava Dome. She has so much love for music, that she does not have a genre that she follows, but appreciates all sorts of good music.

She has been a local Master of Ceremony for diverse events in the country alongside her former Flava Dome Co-presenter Loungo Andre Pitse. She has also been engaged by Sky Girl Magazine school tour to teach students on self-confidence and drugs.
