LaMonki clothing brings stylish wear for Christmas

Publishing Date : 18 December, 2018

A clothing brand owned by a young Motswana based in Texas, Godwill Ngoni, has this festive season leveled up to the festive mood and has made merchandise that caters for people across all ages and all sizes. Known as LaMonki Clothing Line, the brand has cut down prizes for festive.

LaMonki Collection is a clothing line based in Texas by a Motswana entrepreneur Godwill Ngoni Daniel also known as Dagee, who is also a well-known figure in the music business. “We want people to look fresh this festive by wearing LaMonki merchandise and therefore we have reduced our prices so that anyone can have a chance to try this quality international brand. For Botswana stock we currently carry t-shirts, sweaters, caps and bennies, the rest is online,” he shared with WeekendLife.

The clothing however is for all seasons. “We are aware of the heat wave hitting Botswana, so we will advise locals to wear our hats and light weight tees,” he said. He recently had his clothing line photoshoot in Gaborone, where it featured both professional and non-professional local models and individuals of all sorts of sizes including the plus-size women.

“Idea of that shoot was to mainly showcase the current LaMonki stock in Botswana, while at the same time showcasing talented local individuals- that anything is possible, wherever you are considered big/ fat, thin/ skinny or short, you are still beautiful and created in the image of God. He said LaMonki is for everyone who knows their worth. “We intend to extend to other African regions such as SA, Namibia, Zambia, Malawi, Lesotho, Swaziland and others,” he said.

LaMonki is currently looking into expanding to Zimbabwe and recently signed a new brand ambassador from there, Ms Brity Yonly who is also a well-known talented AfroJazz artist in Zimbabwe and internationally. “She might be in Botswana this weekend for a show and that's when we will finalize and sign the paper work and will have time for yet another photoshoot that will also include other local models who missed the last shoot.

We will be showcasing our new merchandise we have in Botswana,” he said. The idea is to still showcase what the brand has in Botswana and finally they will go to Zimbabwe and some parts of Africa.  The merchandise is now available in Botswana with their sales person in Botswana Ms Sheila at +267 74 710 108.
