Shaka to highlight a symposium on the creative industry

Hope of Stars Outreach will be hosting one day capacity building symposium under the theme, “Molding Creative Wealth” on the 5th of October at New Capitol Cinemas at Riverwalk Mall in Gaborone.

Shaka of ‘The Queen’ fame will be a highlighting the event which aims to irrigate minds of the youth. Mostly known as Shaka from his role in a drama series, ‘The Queen’, Sthembiso Khoza is a South African television presenter and actor best known for hosting shows such as Mzanzi Ridez and Goal Diggerz.

After globetrotting his way to profiling international football stars for Goal Diggerz, Shaka returned to add acting to his list of talents, joining the telenovela iNkaba on Mzansi Magic and currently with The River.

In an interview with WeekendLife, Founder and organiser of the event, Taes Entaile explained that the planned event is set to feature various speakers who are industry experts in the International & Local Film, TV,

“They are to share on topics that are meant to guide, inspire, motivate and assist to grow the local creative industry and mould the youthful creatives. This will help expose filmmakers, actors and a seamless network of industry hub that will serve as a pivotal network,” he said. Entaile explained that Shaka has been in the film industry for more than eight years with 500k followers on Instagram and Twitter.

“This means that the actor has an enormous influencer’s fellowship and he can easily influence a targeted specific audience, hence the partnership,” he said. Sthembiso is to share about his journey in the creative industry, challenges to look out for and how to overcome them, opportunities available, right character for the industry, how to build a sustainable brand, how to maintain Brand relevance in the industry and how to monetize passion.

The renowned South African actor will be sharing on his testimonial, giving an insight on opportunities available and ideas to be explored for the growth of the industry and his trade secrets of maintaining a feisty brand.He added that they intended to make this partnership shine on 100 Youth Creative Aspirants of Film, TV & Production students, graduates, and professional youth in the creative industries.

All participants will be afforded an opportunity to engage further with panelists for in-depth understanding of questions that lingers in their minds once they have all taken stage. Local professional from Signed International, Johnson Otlaadisa will be amongst the guest speaker and will be giving an insight on local creative industry Focused on Film, TV, Visual & Performing and Print

He will also share on opportunities available locally and internationally for an active and vibrant youth and will give a word of advice on how to establish and sustain creative and lucrative companies/brands

Hope of Stars Outreach is an initiative that brings together creative icons and influencers in the society to engage with aspiring youth in various communities to inspire them through irrigating their minds and cranking out their creative gifts to see them through into the stars they are.This is done through focused skill transfer per respective field of STARS per group in a centre and consistent donation of food and clothing items as per visit.
