The 5th Annual Hamptons Jazz Festival momentum has gained momentum, and with only 5 weeks to go, the organizers have disregarded all draw backs and diverted all their energy to ensuring a scintillating show. The organizers are pulling all stops to ensure the event will be a success, come 24 March 2018 at Duma Grounds.

Headliners Billy Ocean and Bhudazza have already taken to their respective social media platforms to confirm their attendance via videos. The videos by the Briton and the Lesotho native had Hamptons fans eating out of their palms. Hamptonettes, as Hamptons lovers are affectionately known, were surely excited about these confirmations. Electric entertainer, Amanda Black, the Mankayi siblings (Nathi & Amanda), have also done confirmation videos.

On the local front, Nnunu Ramogotsi, Socca Moruakgomo, ATI, Thabang Gaorogwe, Nnunu Ramogotsi & Thato Jessica have all confirmed their attendance via videos posted on their social media platforms and on the Hamptons pages, much to the joy of the fans.

There are also radio jingles across local radio stations and these have also left fans baited with anticipation for the actual event to take place. TV adverts are playing on Botswana Television on Saturdays and Sundays during Wedding Day and Pula Power, respectively. Street poles adverts are also visible around Gaborone major roads, with about 50 spread across major routes.

In addition to Billy Ocean and Bhudazza, Mali's Salif Keita and South Africa's Amanda Black, Zahara, brother and sister duo Nathi and Amanda Makanyi, are all billed to perform. On the local front Botswana will be well represented by Jazz Maestro's in Socca Moruakgomo, Nnunu Ramogotsi, Thabang Gaorogwe and Shanti Lo. Exciting additions include the talented ATI, sultry Thato Jessica, legendary Kalanga maestro Ndingo Johwa. Dishing some grown folk music will be Djs Jazzy Pete and Bush. MC duties have been given to smooth Resego Motlhokathari, the every smiley Zenzele Hirchsfeld and the funny Losika Seboni.

This week we had a chat with Debbie Smith, one of Hamptons Organizers, ''there is currently a couples ticket promotion which goes for P899, admitting two and gets you two free t-shirts, this special is valid until end of February, normal tickets are P599, with no merchandize, while those wanting a VIP experience will part with P3500.''

The VIP experience includes welcome beverages, food by Avani Gaborone Resort & Casino chefs, drink vouchers, chocolate fountain, Hamptons Tshirt or Fedora Hat, Hamptons goody bag, Moet glass, and the opportunity to meet and greet celebrity artists.
