Mafikizolo mesmerizes BOSETU cultural night

South African Afro pop outfit, the sensational Mafikizolo rocked the 2017 Botswana Sectors of Educators Trade Union (BOSETU) Cultural night held at the Stanbic piazza last Friday.


The night of glitz and glamour was graced by the who’s who of Gaborone from; corporate, civil leaders, business persons and captains of industries,   the night was an epic wrap up of the year’s events for the union.  Amongst the attendants were Opposition leaders Dumelang Saleshando and Duma Boko, trade Unionist Johnson Motshwarakgole , Liberty life Chief Executive office Lulu Rasebotsa and celebrated media personalities to name but a few.


The show began with a stunning performance from BOSETU Cultural groups who hypnotized the audience with an amazing showcase of household songs like “Bagammagwato baga mabiletsa’’ and Charma Gal’s “matebele”  with added contemporary and modern vocals.
The audience mostly middle aged adults, educators from the Union itself couldn’t help but reconnect with their youthful days of classic dance moves. Local Jazz group Sereetsi & the Natives also lived u to their name, having crowds in their feet and singing along to their songs. “Ke boletsa Mongwe” had high profile attendants forgo their societal status for some time.


The youthful Amantle Brown also gave an impressive performance, serenading the crowd with her slow love jams-before belting out “Follo” with her Motswako artist boyfriend, Juju Boy joining her on stage. It is no wonder she captivated crowds at the Mahika Mahikeng Festival earlier this month.


The headliners of the night, Mafikizolo would follow on stage, driving the crowds all the way to the dance floor. The duo performed different songs from their previous albums from when their journey in music started- much to the joy of the audience. In familiar fashion, their dancers outdid themselves on stage with their well blended choreography. The duo also performed samples of songs from their upcoming album, according to Theo, the album features renowned African acts like Nigerian Maleek Berry, Tanzanian Diamond Platinumz amongst others.
