Atlas Copco Botswana donates in Orapa

In an effort to prevent non-communicable diseases amongst its employees, Atlas Copco Botswana hosted a wellness day last Saturday under the theme “My Health My Future Wealth” in Orapa.  


On the same day, Atlas Copco donated a football kit worth 12 388.32 to Mokane Primary School, located 18km from Orapa in Boteti, Letlhakane. Mokane Primary School has 1085 pupils has a long standing relationship with the company as its staff based in Orapa uses the school grounds for fitness activities.


Giving a motivational talk, Ms Gabothusi Olobe said that people needed to attain good health as there is no wealth outside good health. Ms Julia Olaotswe,  Senior Teacher Sports at Mokane Primary School expressed her gratitude to Atlas Copco for the donation, saying it will go a long way in helping them as they have always been unable to attend football competitions in the region due to lack of  the kit. In an era where Botswana has seen some of its own rise to fame and sustainability through sports, the need for early childhood mentoring on different sporting codes cannot go unnoticed.   


Other activities of the day included aerobics, egg race, wellness screening and a score match between Atlas Copco Botswana staff and Motsumi CJSS teachers.
