Vasco da Gama signs Kebaatho

Omaatla “Dunga” Kebaatho impressive performance at the COSAFA Castle cup in South Africa recently has earned him a two year contract with first division side, Vasco da Gama.

The 22 year old striker had an impressive season in the 2014/15 campaign after quiet stints at BDF XI and Ecco City Greens which saw him receive both the national under-23 and senior team call-ups.

He has since become a darling to football fanatics after he netted crucial goals; he scored two goals when Botswana eliminated Kenya in the first leg of the All Africa Games qualifiers. In the past season he scored seven goals. The player has been on the want list of many teams in Botswana with the latest being Jwaneng Galaxy.

The move by the Maun born player has been hailed as one of the best since there is no pressure at the team, and football pundits have predicted that the player if he keeps the same form, could play in the premier league next season.

The bully marksman is expected to torment the defenders when used as a holding striker however he can also take the responsibility as an attacking midfielder. “Dunga” will add on the declining numbers of local players in South-Africa. Vasco was once played for by Dirang “Malam” Moloi in 2011/12 season.
